With all of these switches the process for bypassing the switch is the same; unplug the pellet stove, disconnect the wires from the switch, connect them together and plug the pellet stove back in. Spade connectors can slide onto each other and will stay. Other connectors you may need to tape together. Or some people prefer to jump the wires together without taking them off the switch. You can jump the wires with a paper clip, a wire or preferably a jumper wire with banana clips.

A Low Limit Sensor is usually mounted to the exhaust fan housing and has two wires going to it. Most Low Limit Sensors turn on/off at 110, 120, or 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The switch is normally Off or Open and turns on or closes when the stove gets hot. When the switch closes that tells the stove’s computer there is heat and it continues to run. When you turn off your stove it will stop feeding fuel, the fire goes out and the switch will eventually cool down and open again. When it does this all the fans on the stove will shut off.
A High Limit Sensor is usually mounted to the back of the firewall of the pellet stove and has two wires going to it. Most High Limit Sensors turn on/off at 250 or 300 degrees Fahrenheit. The switch is normally On or Closed and turns off if the stove gets too hot. When this switch is activated most stoves will turn off the auger motor and may turn the convection fan on high. The convection fan is what cools the stove so if that fan fails you most likely would have a high limit sensor trip.
Some hi limit sensors have to be manually reset such as those on a Quadrafire Pellet Stove. They have a small red button on the back of them. Pressing the button only resets the switch if it has been tripped. If it has not been tripped pressing the button does nothing.
A Convection Fan Switch is usually mounted to the back of the firewall of the pellet stove and has two wires going to it. Most Convection Fan Switches turn on/off at 200 degrees Fahrenheit. The switch is normally Off or Open and turns on when the stove gets hot enough which turns on the convection fan. When the stove cools off the switch opens or turns off and the fan turns off.

Ashes must be brushed from the firebox to the ash pan.
The combustion air input must be adjusted manually to match the heat setting of the stove.
If using a 50% mix of corn and wood pellets, the automatic ignition system may not work. This can be remedied by increasing the proportion of pellets in the mix.
